SPECIALITY Treatment
Abhyanga
Abhyanga is a therapy practised in Ayurveda which involves massaging warm herb-infused oil all over the body. The warm oil, when applied to the skin, gets absorbed through the skin cracks and inter-cellular spaces. The warmth of the oil and the hand movements during the massage helps to increase the peripheral circulation. This enhances the absorption of the active ingredients present in the oil through the blood and lymphatic circulation. The active ingredients will be transferred to the target organs accordingly.
Choorna Pinda Sweda
Choorna Pinda Sweda treats diseases related to bones, joints, muscles, and nerves. This is a specialized therapy which is performed to cure inflammation, pain, swelling and stiffness. It is performed by using boluses prepared from different choornas. Choornapinda is a bolus/potali with dry medicated powder. Sudation with this bolus is called Choornapindasweda. Choornapindasweda is a type of massage which uses bundles. These bundles are bags which are filled with herbal powders. The type of powders used depends upon the health condition. The herbal powder is prepared by transforming the herbs into a coarse powder and heating it slightly in a dry pan. It is then tied to bags using four cotton cloth pieces. These are usually heated in medicated oil throughout the massage.

For that, the patient should be prepared by snehana, swedana, vamana, virechana, etc. according to their condition. After a heavy meal, the person is laid on a comfortable table towards his left lateral position, and his abdomen and the hip region is elevated and made to sweat well with steam. Then the suitable amount of oil is warmed and filled in a syringe and introduced gently through the anus and pushed in with constant pressure.
Patra Pinda Sweda
Patra Pinda Sweda is a type of massage done by bundles or cloth bags filled with herbal leaves and some other ingredients. Compared to Abhyanga (oil massage), this one is simpler as the packets are applied or pounded on the body. The type of leaves or other ingredients selected depends on the condition of the disease. The leaves are cut into small pieces and fried with other ingredients in neem oil or any other suitable oil and tied in four cotton cloth pieces to make the bags. These are usually kept warm with medicated oil throughout the massage. Two persons specialised in this therapy generally do this massage. After the massage, the patient is allowed to take rest for a few minutes and later, a hot water bath is given.
Shirobasti
Shirobasti is a kind of oil application on the head. Here, the medicated oil is collected on the head inside a leather cap. This is one of the best methods adopted to apply oil on the head. This treatment is highly useful to treat facial paralysis, dryness of nostrils, mouth and throat, severe headaches and other diseases of the head. The temperature of the oil should be kept uniform throughout the process.
Vamana
Vamana means medically-induced vomiting to clean the upper respiratory tract and upper digestive tract. This is mainly done under conditions where there is an imbalance of kapha or doshas related to kapha. Proper preparations will be done before the procedure in which snehana and swedana are the main ones. This process will clean the excessive doshas and the toxins collected in the systems. For this procedure, the patient will be made to sit on a comfortable chair to support his back. After the process of vomiting the person will be given some medicated fume inhalations, etc. The activities and the food of the person will be strictly restricted on the day of treatment.
Virechana

These toxins are usually accumulated in the liver and gallbladder. The therapy thoroughly cleanses the gastrointestinal tract. It is a safe procedure without any side effects. This is a cleansing method to clean the lower digestive tract. Virechana is adopted to eliminate excessive pitta dosha. Virechana is usually done after proper preparations as in every panchakarma. The medicine will be given to the patient in the morning on an empty stomach. Then he has to drink warm water to stimulate the digestive tract. The activities of the patient and his food will be highly restricted on that day.
